Presbyterian Women Mission Statement

Forgiven and freed by God in Jesus Christ, and empowered by the Holy Spirit, we commit ourselves: To nurture our faith through prayer and Bible study; To support the mission of the church worldwide; To work for justice and peace; And to build an inclusive, caring community of women that strengthens the Presbyterian Church (USA) and witnesses to the promise of God's kingdom.

WHAT WE DO:

In furtherance of our mission work, Presbyterian Women organize, plan, and conduct a Mission Marketplace in November featuring holiday gifts and decorations, baked goods, vendors, door prizes and silent auction.  This is our main fundraiser, and the proceeds go to support our various missions both locally and abroad.  Our recent Mission Marketplace was very well attended, and a good time was had by all.

We also meet for either a coffee hour or luncheon each month to give women from the Church and their guests opportunities to build a caring community of women that strengthens the Presbyterian Church and fosters fellowship.

BIBLE STUDY

Here and Now ... There and Then by Beth Moore is an 11-week lecture series on the Book of Revelation, beginning on January 5, 2012 at 1:00 pm.  Beth presents many points of view, and teaches that God is as specific about what He does reveal as He is about what He does not reveal.  Workbook is available.

SCHEDULE OF UPCOMING EVENTS:

Nifty Needlers:  Presbyterian Women meet every Tuesday from 11:00 am to 3:00 pm to work on comfort quilts to be given wherever there is a need for comfort, and on our raffle quilt to be raffled at the Spring Banquet.  If you don't know how to quilt, we'll teach you.  Join us for a ripping good time!

December 8, 2011 @ 2:00 - Christmas Tea:  Wear your Christmas finery to this delightful tea.  Enjoy fellowship, great entertainment and lots of goodies and tea.  Bring your Thank Offering and, if you wish, an unwrapped donation of clothing for an infant or toddler to be given to the Pregnancy Crisis Center.  We'll also have a cookie exchange.  Bring a dozen cookies and the recipe to share, or just take some home with you.
