Corenne Smith From Hope
Unlimited For Children
Visiting FPC
Corenne Smith, wife of the CEO of Hope Unlimited, will
be visiting FPC on SundayMarch 19, 2023. She will
bring us a message about their ministry and how God is
at work in young lives in Brazil. Hope Unlimited is one
of the missions our church supports financially through
our mission budget. Over the past 30 years, reaching
deeply into one life at a time, Hope Unlimited has
embraced thousands of children—including their next
generations. And when Hope succeeds, the cycle is
broken: a child grows up to become a productive and
contributing member of society. Even more importantly,
they have become loving and Godly parents. Fully 92%
of the boys and girls who completed the residential
program at Hope Unlimited are employed today. Plan to
be with us in person or online on Sunday, March 19th to
be encouraged by the ministry of Hope Unlimited.
Two of the missionaries supported by our church are Justin Searway (son of Allyson and Brent, Grandson of Ann & Hank Brubaker) and his wife, Rosita. Their ministry is in Mexico. They regularly lead worship services in Ensenada. They are both involved with worship at the summer camps with "Reflect Ministries". God has called them to be involved with Dia and Noche ministry. They both lead discipleship groups of young marrieds.
They minister to those in the street trafficking in the red light district of Ensenada and to the children in the red light district of Tijuana.
Justin has also translated sermons in Spanish services.
Justin and Rositas hearts are with the Lord. They have received the Holy Spirit and feel they are sent to open hearts and lives to Christ!
GO Mongolia – New Mission
The newest mission for our church is Mongolia Campus Crusade For Christ (MCCC). Our financial and prayer support will go to the New Life Teachers Ministry within MCCC. This ministry reaches out to educators including teachers, administrators, students, and families of educators. Their goal is to establish lead Christian teachers in every school who can share their faith stories with other teachers. Through these relationship-building encounters, they lead educators to the Lord, disciple them as new Christians, and help them learn to tell their own faith stories to share with others. They are also leading marriage enrichment seminars to help strengthen families with Christian values in raising their families. Many of the interested attendees are non-Christians who are coming to know Jesus. Ebo and Nergui in the picture are the indigenous leaders of the New Life Teachers Ministry and have five beautiful children. They live in a three-bedroom apartment in Ulaanbaatar, the capital city. During these COVID days, their children have been studying remotely from their apartment. At the same time, Ebo and Nergui have been carrying on their ministry from home using ZOOM and other online resources with Bible Studies, prayer groups, one on one discipling, and marriage seminars. In spite of COVID, they have been effective in using technology to expand their ministry. Praise be to God for their determination to share the Gospel in tough times. The Mission Committee envisions a time, perhaps in September 2022, to send a small team to Mongolia to help spread the Gospel. Your financial gifts to FPC help to provide the resources for expansion of this very successful ministry “to the ends of the earth” in Mongolia. Acts 1:8 says, “you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.”
Agua Viva Ministries
For over thirty years, First Presbyterian Church has been supporting Agua Viva Ministries in Ensenada, Baja California, Mexico. This month, Agua Viva is celebrating their 40th anniversary, forty years of reaching Mexico for Christ!
It all started with a vision of one man, Chuy Davalos who had a driving desire to share the Gospel with millions of fellow Mexicans who had not had the privilege of hearing these words of hope. He founded Rancho Agua Viva to train and equip Mexican pastors and missionaries to reach people throughout Mexico. The ranch now has two seminary programs, the Ministry Training Institute, a one year program and Institute 3:14, a two year program where students can work towards their associate’s or bachelor’s degree in pastoral theology, missional theology, or children’s ministries.
Rancho Agua Viva also offers three other programs: Camping Ministries where more than 135,000 people have visited and been ministered to in church retreats, men’s and women’s retreats, youth camps, athletic programs, missions conferences, and pastor’s seminars.
Missions: Agua Viva is committed to church-planting in rural, hard-to-reach parts of Mexico. In addition to providing affordable biblical training, Mexican missionaries are supported in those hard-to-reach places. Agua Viva sponsors missionaries and partners with local churches in this endeavor.
Short Term Missions: Teams from Canada, United states, and Mexico partner with active churches and ministries to serve in Ensenada and surrounding communities. Our church has been sending teams to participate since the mid nineties.
